Summary
Ethiopia is full of interesting plants and animals—some of them protected in 14 major wildlife reserves. Every year, tourists take trips just to spot some of the many birds that fill Ethiopian skies, including flocks of noisy ibises and small groups of blue-winged geese. Smaller birds such as the white-winged cliff-chat clings to the edges of cliffs and soars out from mountainsides. The thick-billed raven also floats through the highland air. Author Jane Kurtz had fun capturing the world view of the animals she used to see on the Ethiopian savanna as a child and also imagining what one of those high-flying birds might glimpse from the expansive Ethiopian sky.
