Abdirezak Sahane Elmi is a man of many talents and accomplishments. Born in the Somali region of Ethiopia, specifically in Duhun Woreda, he learned the values of hard work and perseverance from a young age. He attended school in various cities such as Garasley, Dire Dawa, Degahbur, and Jigjiga, where he excelled in his studies. Abdirezak is a father and husband. His passion for knowledge drove him to pursue a Diploma in Accounting, a BA in Accounting and Finance, and later an MSc in Pastoral Economic Development from Jigjiga University. His education laid the foundation for his successful career. Over the years, Abdirezak has held various notable positions, including serving as the Mayor of Jigjiga and Kabridahar cities. He has made significant contributions to institution building, service delivery, and the planning and design of strategic projects in both cities. His role as Mayor, in collaboration with the entire staff, has been pivotal. He also made a significant impact as the Police Commissioner in the Somali region of Ethiopia, upholding justice and ensuring the safety of the people. His passion for education and development led him to work as the Deputy Head of the SRS TVET Bureau, where he helped improve the region's vocational training programs. Additionally, Abdirezak served as an adviser to the former President of the Somali Region and as the head of the Diaspora Bureau. Aside from his impressive career in politics, Abdirezak is also a skilled writer. He is the author of the book 1825 Nights in Prison: A Painful But Useful Story, a moving and inspiring tale of his personal experiences. Through this book, he shares valuable life lessons and encourages others to overcome challenges and strive for a better future. Abdirezak has now published his second book, A Promising Future for Young Africans, in which he delves into thoughtful and useful insights, lessons, experiences, information, and advice for young people.
